A brief update because my ab psych instructor set a note for the entire class about why she lowered people's grades for their comments. I got the full 10 points possible because I know how this all works. :)She basically stated all the points and assumptions most of the people in my discussion group made that were not even possible, such as a therapist doing all forms of therapy styles, or a therapist giving medications to clients. She pointed out that if they want to give meds they better plan for a few years in medical school and prepare for frustration in dealing with clients who refuse meds as well as those who have adverse reactions. She also pointed out that cognitive therapies don't really care about your past, and that behavioral therapies are only effective if the person wants to change, because most people do things that help them or that they perceive as helping them even if it is not socially acceptable behavior. I feel this wry sense of vindication right now. :-> ~e
